A Mission of Safety and EducationIn the Diocese of Khulna, Bangladesh, a critical project remains unfinished. With your help, we can complete a safe hostel for vulnerable young women seeking education and protection."This is a house in which various girls come for safety. It's a hostel for girls... We would love to ask the help of those in the United States so that we could finish this beautiful work to protect these girls who have no other place to go." — Monsignor Roger LandryThe Story So FarThanks to the generous support of the Pontifical Mission Societies in the United States, protective walls have been constructed around this essential facility. However, the hostel building itself still requires significant repairs and improvements to be fully functional.Bishop James Boiragi of the Diocese of Khulna explains the critical importance of this hostel:"This hostel started long ago when one of our missionaries from Italy bought this house for girls who were coming from villages and not finding any safe place to stay. For their safety and for their studies, he purchased this house. Now girls come from villages to stay here, close to the local college where they can pursue their education while being cared for by the sisters. It's truly beautiful work."The Challenge We FaceThe hostel is facing significant structural challenges due to climate change impacts in the region. Increased salinity in the area has affected the building's mortar, requiring urgent repairs and reinforcement. Our Goal: $15,000To complete the necessary renovations and ensure this safe haven can continue to protect and nurture these young women, we need to raise $15,000.Your contribution, no matter the size, will help:- Complete essential structural repairs- Ensure the building can withstand environmental challenges- Provide a safe home for girls pursuing education- Support a legacy of protection for vulnerable young womenJoin Our MissionBy supporting this project, you become part of a global community ensuring that these young women have access to both education and safety—two fundamental rights that should be available to all. Please consider making a donation today. Together, we can finish this beautiful work and create lasting change in the lives of these girls who have nowhere else to turn. This appeal is shared on behalf of Monsignor Roger Landry and Bishop James Boiragi of the Diocese of Khulna, Bangladesh.
