A Safe Haven for Girls in Bangladesh

A Mission of Safety and Education

In the Diocese of Khulna, Bangladesh, a critical project remains unfinished. With your help, we can complete a safe hostel for vulnerable young women seeking education and protection.

The Story So Far

Thanks to the generous support of the Pontifical Mission Societies in the United States, protective walls have been constructed around this essential facility. However, the hostel building itself still requires significant repairs and improvements to be fully functional.

Bishop James Boiragi of the Diocese of Khulna explains the critical importance of this hostel:

"This hostel started long ago when one of our missionaries from Italy bought this house for girls who were coming from villages and not finding any safe place to stay. For their safety and for their studies, he purchased this house. Now girls come from villages to stay here, close to the local college where they can pursue their education while being cared for by the sisters. It's truly beautiful work."

The Challenge We Face

The hostel is facing significant structural challenges due to climate change impacts in the region. Increased salinity in the area has affected the building's mortar, requiring urgent repairs and reinforcement.

Our Goal: $15,000

To complete the necessary renovations and ensure this safe haven can continue to protect and nurture these young women, we need to raise $15,000.
